Lesson Objectives
- How the process applies to both hand and machines
- The use of a vee groove to align components
- What can go wrong
- How to make your own panel gauge
Sizing panels is incredibly easy to get incredibly wrong. If you make a small error such as referencing off the wrong face when shooting end square. It can have disastrous consequences for your project if left unnoticed.
The fundamental thing to remember when carrying out this process is always reference off your face edge. No matter what. These principles are relevant in both sizing timber by hand, as demonstrated in this video. And also sizing timber on machines. Whether it be a small table saw, or an industrial sized panel saw.
If care is not taken, big problems will arise!
