How To Cut a Mitred Dovetail Joint
Lesson Objectives
- How to mark out the joint
- How to cut to a line
- How to refine the joint
- How to clamp the joint
This joint not only finishes a corner off nicely, but it is a great way of hiding a groove or rebate within a box or a carcass for example. Whereas normally you would need to create some sort of stopped joint to prevent the joint showing on the endgrain. You need really sharp tools for this one. So if you need a refresher, have a look at my lesson on How to get a Deadly Sharp Edge on a Chisel.
